Girl Scouts Meet Savannah

Return to Specific Tours Page

Savannah is the hometown of Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scouts.

Take a tour and allow your girl Scout troops to experience a “hands-on” adventure focused on the contributions of Girl Scouting to the city of Savannah.

Start with a visit to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, named Savannah's first National Historic Landmark in 1965. Continue on to another House Museum, The Andrew Low House, home of Juliette Gordon Low's father-in law and the Girl Scout's first national headquarters. Christ Episcopal Church is where “Daisy” was baptized, and the first church, then Anglican, established in the Savannah colony in 1733.

Other sites you may want to include are Old Fort Jackson, Fort Pulaski and Fort Screven, as well as the Tybee Island Lighthouse.
